Rubens
Sir Peter Paul Rubens was a Flemish painter belonging to the Baroque movement. In accordance with this style, he proposed a painting rich of emotions, with emphasized movements, vivid colors and unusual sensuality. He is well-known for his Counter-Reformation altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects.
He had many students and apprentices who helped him (some of his works have been painted by Rubens himself only in part - mostly hands and faces) like Anthony Van Dick, who later became famous on his own.
